Globally loved, mustachioed, pop singer-songwriter Darwin Smith and his band, Darwin Deez, have announced that they will be doing a coast-to-coast headlining tour this summer. This is following a successful worldwide run of shows in Europe and Australia. The group is known for putting on an interesting and entertaining show, occasionally dropping all instruments and beginning full-on choreographed dance sequences ranging from ballet to interpretive. Other accounts say the group began moshing in the crowd along to Rage Against The Machine or that lead singer Smith spit some cutesy rhymes over beats in between songs, an image that sounds far from street legit from the look of the man’s curls and headband. But hey, at least the group knows how to stand out.
The Brooklyn-based band is allowing a download of the song “DNA” to celebrate the tour announcement. Darwin Deez has reason to celebrate: Its self-titled debut will be getting a physical release May 23 from New York label Lucky Number. The tour dates are listed below.
