Cansei De Ser Sexy, more popularly known as CSS, is making some serious moves. After a successful two-album run on Sub Pop, the band is now signed to a licensing deal with V2, home of Phoenix, the Black Keys and Yelle. V2′s brain child, Cooperative Music, a transnational marketing and distribution operation, will be more closely working with the group. The two’s maiden voyage together will be the upcoming album La Liberación, set to be released worldwide August 29. By worldwide, we actually mean everywhere except the band’s native Brazil and Japan.

The Brazilian dance-pop quintet had a good run on Sub Pop, releasing two critically acclaimed albums: 2006′s Cansei De Ser Sexy and 2008′s Donkey. CSS also managed to gain a reputation as one of the wildest live bands around. The group plans to enforce that rumor this spring with a coast-to-coast North American tour with fellow high-energy rock kids Sleigh Bells. Included in that tour will be a stop off at Coachella.
