Mike Todd, the bassist for New York alternative rock band Coheed And Cambria, was arrested on Sunday afternoon in Attleboro, MA. He was charged with armed robbery and possession of a class B controlled substance after threatening a pharmacist and demanding OxyContin at a Walgreens around 1 p.m. Todd allegedly showed the pharmacist a note on his phone that claimed he had a bomb.
After demanding six bottles of pills, he was seen getting into a cab that was headed for the Comcast Center, where Coheed And Cambria was scheduled to open for Soundgarden, which is currently on a reunion tour. Todd was arrested outside of the venue and is being held at the Attleboro Police Department on $10,000 bail.
The rest of the band is not taking this news lightly and immediately issued a statement on its website:
“Michael Todd was arrested today on what we consider very serious charges, and therefore he will not be finishing up the current tour. Wes Styles, long-time member of the Coheed family, will take on bass duties starting tomorrow for the remaining dates. No shows will be canceled.”
Coheed And Cambria played last night’s show without Todd, and it is unknown when, or if, he will rejoin the band.
