Those yearning for a taste of what’s brewing across the pond are in luck: The British indie rockers of the Brute Chorus are partnering with CMJ to premiere their new single, “My Testament.” It’s a song that showcases the band’s blend of rock and blues with ample amounts of fuzzy guitar and bass for good measure. It’s also the latest we’ve heard from the London quartet, which released its sophomore LP, How The Caged Bird Sings, in 2010.
The band’s received plenty of press in the U.K., including spots in British tastemakers like NME, Kerrang! and Drowned In Sound. Now, with plenty of hometown cred, the Brute Chorus is turning its attention to the U.S., preparing to embark on its first American tour with coveted gigs at SXSW along the way. It’s first U.S. show will be on March 6th at New York City’s Piano’s. Given the infectiousness of the band’s sound, it wouldn’t be surprising to expect the Brute Chorus to follow in the successful footsteps of past tourmates Art Brut and Ida Maria.
