After watching The Artist win all the Oscars and Adele win all Grammys, why not tune into a night of artistic and musical celebration that’s actually relevant to you? On March 18 MTV and mtvU will host the 2012 mtvU Woodie Awards, where a range of artists, including the Black Keys, Skrillex and Childish Gambino, will be honored for helping to define the year in music.

Beyond honoring the year’s best breaking artists, music videos and live performances, mtvU will give away a College Radio Woodie to the most popular student-run radio station in the country. Blast your airwaves and social networks with this ballot link to get your campus station the cred it deserves. But hurry: Voting closes Friday, February 17.

Vote for the other Woodie categories here.

If you snagged a SXSW pass this year, catch the Woodies Awards Festival on March 15 in Austin. If not, you can stream the whole show, complete with backstage action, from the Woodie Awards website when the gates open at noon.

Finally, check out MTV and mtvU on Sunday, March 18, at 8/7 central for the actual award ceremony to find out which campus station is statistically and unequivocally the greatest, and which 2011 Internet sensation is statistically and unequivocally the most annoying. Meanwhile, take some time to reacquaint yourself with the Best Video nominees. An informed voter is a pillar of democracy. Now watch this chick swing a sword.
