The confoundingly un-Googleable Bobby will play a headlining show at the Knitting Factory in May before opening for Thao And Mirah on a cross-country tour this June. Bobby is composed of Tom Greenberg on vocals, as well as Martin Zimmerman on drums, Paolo Menuez on what the band describes as “thweedles,” Julian Labat on bass and Roby Moulton on “wisps.” Additionally, the lineup features Molly Sarle of the folk act Mountain Man on backup vocals. The band plays an organic kind of disaffected indie pop, with an absolutely sick series of basslines. Bobby’s debut comes out June 21 via Partisan. Check out the band’s track “Groggy” here.
