If you’ve been feeling deprived of heartfelt, storytelling folk-rock tunes, we’ve got good news: Blitzen Trapper, arguably the best name in said game, has announced that it has a new album on the way. Titled American Goldwing, the group’s fourth full-length is due for a September 13 release on Sub Pop, and frontman Eric Earley says it deals heavily in good-old American nostalgia. The band members drew from the country and hard-rock sounds that they grew up with, and Earley’s songwriting focuses on the feeling of sticking around in a middle-of-nowhere town for too long.

If that doesn’t sound rustic enough for you, check out the album’s short teaser video, which makes up for its lack of useful information with its abundance of down-home imagery and sounds: harmonicas, a crackling fire, and faded shots of a 1950s pickup rolling through the woods. Take me home, country roads.

In the meantime, Blitzen Trapper will soak up much of the western and midwest United States on a short run of late-July tour dates. We’ve got to hand it to these guys—not a whole lot of bands take the time to stop in Montana. Check out the dates below (more to be announced soon).
