Australian garage-rock group Bleeding Knees Club has released a video for its new single, “Teenage Girls.” The track comes straight from its upcoming EP, Virginity (IAMSOUND), out right at the beginning of CMJ 2011 on October 18. If, by the song’s title, you’re thinking that this will be a cutesy montage of nail polish and makeup … you would be sort of right. Eyelashes are being combed, nails are being painted, and there’s even a scrawled-in diary. But then there are also ashtrays full of cigarette butts, an apple bong and tattoos. As lead singer and drummer Alex Wall told Rolling Stone, “We wanted it to capture that carefree, who-gives-a-fuck attitude that the girls had when I was a teenager.”

And from the looks of the girls in the video, Bleeding Knees Club captured just that. Check out the band’s tour dates below, including two CMJ performances.
