Following the January release of its Stay Home LP, Jackson Heights, Queens, garage-rock trio the Beets is leaving the outer boroughs for an upcoming North American tour. As the lo-fi sound that the Beets offers strips music down to its pure ingredients—exposed guitars, bass, drums and raw, thoughtful lyrics—there is no better context to experience this band than in an intimate live setting. The duo Eternal Summers will be joining the band throughout its spring and summer tour dates, offering a complementary combination of lo-fi rock and minimalist post-punk.

Frontman of the Beets, Juan Wauters, began playing music with Jose Garcia after immigrating to Queens, NY, from Uruguay. It’s now only a half-decade later, and the two have already released their second LP. Meanwhile, the members of the Beets have established a feel for one another that allows the band to perform with impulsiveness and spontaneity that justifies its lofty live reputation.
