Animal Collective announced this morning it will play two shows in New York City on December 4 and 5 at Manhattan’s Terminal 5. These new shows are make-up concerts for the cancellation of the heavily anticipated Williamsburg Park show, called off because of vocalist Avey Tare’s laryngitis. Tickets go on sale November 9, and presale tickets will be made available to those who previously bought tickets for the Williamsburg show.
Like Dan Deacon, who announced earlier this week that the profits from his NYC shows will be donated to the Occupy Sandy and American Red Cross Hurricane relief funds, portions of Animal Collective’s Terminal 5 ticket sales will be donated to the Red Cross’s Hurricane Sandy relief efforts.
In addition to the tour dates, Animal Collective has also announced the upcoming release of the 10″ single for “Applesauce” off of Centipede Hz. The single also includes the previously unreleased track “Crimson,” a haunting, post-apocalyptic slow-dance track, as a b-side. The single drops November 13 via Domino, but until then you can stream “Crimson” and its sounds of mechanical romance, below.
