Ladada

Ladada

Today we’ve got an album premiere for you, Ladada’s self-titled debut on Gold Robot Records, out August 5. There’s a relaxed air about this record that feels like music made by a man—one Josiah Schlater—secure in his place in the musical world. For this fellow, that would be a small, secluded storage room somewhere near Virginia Beach creating this sunny pop that sounds way more expansive than the claustrophobic confines he tracked it all in. Considering he’s toured around in bands that went from a major label (MAE on Capitol) to another on indie Frenchkiss (We Are Trees), here’s guessing he’s gone rouge on the whole biz career planning thing and is just floating off to whatever jangly, lilting clouds and green grass fields will have him and his torn paisley shirts. Summer’s still here, and so’s Ladada, so check out the album below.
