As part of New York’s legendary CMJ Music Marathon, one of the world’s largest and longest running new music festivals, the 18th annual CMJ Film Festival promises to be the most ambitious yet. Having gained a reputation over the past two decades for providing CMJ and New York audiences with the very best in breakthrough independent cinema, the festival has featured premieres and advance screenings of  eventual box office smashes like Pulp Fiction, Boogie Nights, Fight Club, Walk The Line, Borat, The Messenger, Love & Other Drugs, and in 2011, Pearl Jam 20 and Beats, Rhymes & Life: The Travels of a Tribe Called Quest.

The CMJ Film Festival has a rich tradition of bringing artists and filmmakers into direct contact with CMJ’s enthusiastic crowds. Past festivals have featured face-to-face sessions with leading filmmakers and stars such as David Cronenberg, Quentin Tarantino, Michael Moore, Harmony Korine, Wim Wenders, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, Anderson Cooper, Vince Vaughn, Justin Long, Kevin Smith, and Marshall Hershkovitz.
