Prior to starting MAC, Allen owned and operated MAD Booking & Events for over five years, which booked and produced numerous festivals across the country. Allen's events included Nashville's Dancin' in the District festival (2000-2004), Atlanta's On The Bricks festival (2001-2004), Washington’s DC Sessions (2004), and Memphis Jam (2003). Allen also booked talent for Voodoo Music Festival, which was nominated in 2001 as Pollstar Magazine's Festival of the Year, from 1999 to 2001.
Allen was named to Billboard Magazine’s Women in Music in 2010 (#24) and 2011 (#19), a list recognizing female executives who are driving the music business forward with vision, dedication and hard work. She was a finalist in the Best Entrepreneur category at the Stevie Awards in 2009 and 2010. Allen was also a finalist for the American Business Awards in 2009 and 2010.
