Joel is the founder and CEO of SynchTank – a Brooklyn and London-based software company that has created a highly configurable platform for cloud-based digital media asset management, pitching and licensing, which is already in use by over 50 top music publishers, record labels, composers, managers, distributors, and creative agencies worldwide.
As a teenager Joel ran a seminal punk rock and hardcore vinyl label out of his parents' South Jersey basement with his identical twin brother. Joel designed all the packaging and artwork for the label which eventually led to a two-decade career as an independent graphic designer and art director for hundreds of indie label releases covering every genre imaginable.
An early innovator in digital art and publishing, Joel has overseen the creation of marketing campaigns from simple printed POP to highly coordinated multi-tier, multi-platform digital programs, so is a first-hand witness to the evolution of the digital landscape and the required toolset to navigate it successfully.
Joel still sticks to the DIY ethos of his early years and continues to enthusiastically run his own labels, Warmth and The Savant Guard, as well as sign new artists and writers to his publishing company, Earthprogram Music.
