Musician, Motivational Performer and King of Partying
Andrew W.K., Inc.
Known as the new ambassador of visceral rock & roll pleasure, Andrew W.K. on and off the stage has a furious delivery, a charismatic charm, and an energized enthusiasm. His almost singular ability to straddle both mainstream media and fringe culture has made him an instantly recognizable modern pop icon. An example of his lasting influence is the August 2012, 10th Anniversary Deluxe release of his landmark debut album, I Get Wet.
Ten years after its initial release I Get Wet and it’s creative vision still prove to be ahead of its time. The album unleashed anthemic and positive hits like, “Party Hard” and “She Is Beautiful” at a time when culture was saturated with pessimism. I Get Wet debuted at #1 spot on the Billboard “Heat Seekers” chart on its release and has went on to be named a top album of the decade by such notable outlets as Pitchfork, Rhapsody and Decibel.
The world tour surrounding the release in 2012 sold out every date through the U.S., Europe, Australia and Japan. Media coverage on Andrew in 2012 has spanned across a who’s-who of national entertainment outlets including Spin, Pitchfork, Entertainment Weekly, Fox, AOL Spinner, The AV Club, MTV, Conan O’Brien, Sirius XM and many more.
In recent years W.K. has turned his positive message into motivational lectures at such Ivy League universities as Harvard and Yale as well as the national My Little Pony convention this fall. In addition to his own music, he received a Grammy nomination in 2009 for producing reggae and dub pioneer, Lee “Scratch” Perry's Repentance album. He has also collaborated with such artists as Matt & Kim, Soulja Boy, Current 93, Good Charlotte, Steve Aoki, Rivers Cuomo and even The Simpsons animated series (Andrew W.K. performed the theme song for the legendary cartoon’s 20th anniversary episode).
