Shaw started her music career as a DJ for mainstream rock format station 94 Rock in Albuquerque. Allison also was a writer for VH1/MTV online from 1998-2002. In 2004 Shaw started nationally distributed Hyperactive Music Magazine and the Hyperfestival and Conference in New Mexico. Shaw has interviewed over 1000 performers from Elton John to Tina Turner to Lenny Kravitz and Green Day. In 2007 Allison was the Executive Director for the Santa Fe Muzik Fest which had bands like Public Enemy, Wu Tang Clan, The Fray, and many more,.
Shaw was the founder for Hyperactive Music Festival and Conference in Albuquerque. Hyperfestival started in 2006 and still going strong, has around 200 bands play and over 60 industry speakers from MTV, Warner, Xm Radio, ASCAP, Sesac, , E! Entertainment, Subpop, The Agency Group, Nimbit, Fox Films, Epic, Blender, Spin, AP Press, NPR and many more. Bands that have played previously are The Fray, 30HI3, Flobots, Tickle Me Pink, Fastball, K’s Choice, Girl In A Coma, The Morning Benders, The Maine, Green River Ordinance, Dusty Rhodes and The River Band, The Zac Brown Band, Meese, Brokencyde, Jay Nash, Tim Easton, Jen Foster, Halestorm, Blind Pilot, and many more
Allison Shaw was VP of Marketing and CMO for. Music, music.us in May of 2010 till April of 2011.music is the web domain name extension representing the global music community, giving music entities a unique identity online .music is a new TLD that will be run as a music community worldwide. Shaw was the Director Of Operations for Listen Records/Sony, and is one the Event Producers and talent bookers for Rachael Ray’s Feedback parties at SXSW. Allison holds a seat on the New Mexico Music Commission. Currently Allison is also the Director Of B2B Marketing for Jakprints, the full print and merchandise company. Shaw is responsible for branding, imaging, sponsorships and securing clients.
Shaw also owns Manic Monkee Mgmt and Marketing, which manages bands and does marketing campaigns and consulting for Tech music and Music companies and consults brands and works with Non-profit Organization Sweet Relief that help musicians in need. Shaw is also a founding partner of The Quantum, a mutli-platform movement comprised of innovative entertainment, new media and consumer companies that aim to expand awareness for artists and brands through their collaborative efforts The Quantum, produced many events at SXSW 2012 and was the first company to ever produce shows at the flagship Whole Food on Lamar.
