On Friday night, Irving Plaza turned the lights all the way down for San Diego art-rock act, Pinback
. Against a backdrop of vintage footage streaming from a projector, the band played to a constantly chanting, cheering and song-requesting audience. Crowd favorites like Penelope
were met with cell phones shooting up in the air and unabashed sing-a-longs. This tour follows the release of Pinback’s fifth studio album, 2012′s Information Received
. Our photographer Emily Korn
was there, soaking in the moody tunes and trying to create her own light source.
