While Day 1 of the Governor’s Ball Festival at Randall’s Island was all about the youthful exuberance and pop-catharsis of Passion Pit, Day 2 was a marathon of luminaries and legends. Slacker-rock king Beck headlined Sunday night, while fellow ’90s heavyweights Built To Spill, Fiona Apple and Modest Mouse kept the nostalgia going throughout the day. We also caught perfomances from football-rock instrumentalists Explosions In The Sky, relatively clean-shaven folkie Devendra Banhart and indie-pop stalwarts Cults. Busy day!
