Day two saw near-perfect weather for big acts like Lykke Li, Cee Lo Green and Eminem. Dom took the stage in the afternoon, delivering pop-rock to a relaxed crowd. Attendance at the showcase was surprisingly thin, but those who did manage to steal away from the main stages to see Dom and company provided the perfect audience, hopping and swaying in the grove around the stage as the band closed out its set with a rousing performance of “Living In America.”
Framed by the Chicago skyline and the soon-to-be setting sun, Silver Lake, CA’s Local Natives played its entire catalog as the crowd undulated like one giant wave in appreciation. By the time the group reached its final song, “Sun Hands,” the audience was so energized that it seemed like all of Chicago could feel the excitement.
