Although CMJ Music Marathon & Film Festival is obviously mainly focused on those two things, a festival just wouldn’t be a party without laughter. Bringing another killer party to CMJ, the Syndicate and the Laugh Button presented the Laugh Button Live at Gotham Comedy Club. The Laugh Button Live showcases stand-up comedy every few months and jumped on the opportunity to do one during CMJ.

This showcase was hosted by John Fisch, a regular performer around New York City and specifically at the Gotham Comedy Club. Comedians Wil Sylvince, Rachel Feinstein and Louis Katz performed some hilarious stand-up, with multiple snorts of laughter heard from the audience. Two surprises came as well: Kurt Metzger, a voice heard regularly on Comedy Central’s Ugly Americans, and Colin Quinn, of Saturday Night Live fame.

Although the event was open to the public, a good amount of the audience had CMJ badges, as Marathon-goers took a few hours away from the music to laugh with fellow radio and music industry friends. For anyone in the area, another showcase of the Laugh Button Live will take place on December 7 at Gotham Comedy Club.
