Drenge came to New York City for the first time last Friday, bringing with them a new wave of grungy rock ‘n’ roll. Brothers Eoin and Rory Loveless closed out 2013 as one of the most buzzed about bands in the U.K.; and 2014 holds two nominations from the NME Awards (Best New Band and Best Album), showcase slots at SXSW, and the release of their latest video, “Fuckabout.”
The two took on Mercury Lounge along with openers Cold Fronts. Wooing their audience into a head-banging trance, the brothers seemed right at home. It won’t be long before the two are selling out rooms to gaggles of crowd surfers and the rebellious at heart. Drenge surely got their bearings this weekend, and look poised to take the States by storm.
