The Knitting Factory in Williamsburg was almost empty Friday night when the first two bands played. Ken South Rock opened the night with a mountain of energy in their basic, two-man spazz-folk crunch, but These People and their somewhat pedestrian alt-rock dried up the room a bit. Luckily, Bo Ningen instantly shot the energy right back up. The Japan-born, London-bred acid-punks jumped around like crazy, making psycho-psych that reached the point of audio electrocution. The crowd went nuts in kind.
