Last night, the line around Webster Hall in New York City stretched for blocks before the venue opened its doors to dedicated Arctic Monkeys fans with time to spare. Frontman Alex Turner strutted on stage in a glittery silver blazer and pompadour à la Ritchie Valens, and lead the band through a lengthy set of tracks from their just-released album, AM, (Do I Wanna Know?, R U Mine?, Why’d You Only Call Me When You’re High?) as well as Arctic Monkeys classics like I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor. The U.K. dance-punk foursome shared the stage with local grime act DROWNERS, who held their own in the big league lineup.
