This weekend, Commodore Barry Park in Fort Greene, Brooklyn looked the best it’s ever looked—at least, it did if you’re not so into the wide-open-spaces and room-to-roam thing. Thousands of people gathered to witness the music extravaganza that is Afropunk Fest—and everyone looked good while doing it.

Among those looking good on Saturday were Le1f, whose spindly dance moves are even better in person (like, he does this really amazing weird limbo thing you have to see to believe) Mykki Blanco, who could be seen strutting around in the crowd (standing at approximately 11 feet tall), Rye Rye, whose sultry popper vocals and quick beats were responsible for the birth of more than one dance pit in the crowd, and a never-disappointing Saul Williams, who got introspective. After much hype and speculation that Prince was coming (in my dreams), Saturday’s special guests turned out to be Dead Prez, which was pretty cool too.

Sunday featured hard-hitters like Danny Brown, clearly riding an album pre-release high, Pyyramids leaning toward the “punk” end of the spectrum, and Questlove, well, being Questlove.
