With its own music and tech hotbed (dubbed "Audio Alley"), as well as
its proximity to Silicon Valley, its deep pool of free-thinking
businesses and its rich musical culture, San Francisco embodies the
intersection of music and technology the ChangeMusic Festival Series
celebrates and investigates. By day, some of the most informative and
thought-provoking forums and workshops have been assembled, reflecting
the city's cutting edge atmosphere. Panelists come from regional tech
and music companies, as well as artists, all of whom have been searching
(and finding) the solution to spotlighting music on the Web. At night,
the festival showcases performances at San Francisco's clubs by some of
the most exciting local and national bands and artists.
Madawg Goes For World Record!
PCDJ's Prentice "Madawg" Murphy grabs the microphone for 3 intense days of nonstop gabbing and mixing of MP3 files in a flat out attempt to establish the first world record for the longest webcast. Using the groundbreaking technology behind the newly released PCDJ Broadcaster, Prentice will be roaming the floors of CMJ's ChangeMusic San Francisco Festival September 15-17 at the Hotel Nikko. During these three days, Madawg will be showing off his music mixing skills, engaging all the attendees, and interviewing performing artists, as well as the new ChangeMusic panelists who represent the new leadership of the digital music industry.
