In Scene Report, musicians from all over the globe fill us in on what’s going on sonically in their hometowns. This week, Brad Weber of Pick A Piper, and also the live drummer for Caribou, gives the scoop on Toronto, ON. Pick A Piper’s self-titled debut album is out April 2 on Mint.


 

 
Toronto has a bit of everything! I know some pretty manic dance producers, lots of amazing DJs, a really healthy noise scene, free jazz/improv types, plenty of folk artists (for better or for worse), lots of “indie rock” (see previous statement) and some of the best catchy, feel-good bluegrass you could imagine. I’m not much for intros, and this intro has certainly missed a lot, so with that said, let’s move on!
