Lexington has a very supportive music scene. Everyone is constantly going out to see everyone else’s gigs. The city itself is beautiful, the rent is cheap, and it’s just small enough where you can drive 10 minutes and be amongst beautiful horse farms, parks, woods, etc. I first moved here in 2006 for school and met the noise guys. Hair Police, Caboladies, Cadaver In Drag, Warmer Milks…the crew my age was making pop and rock, and the older crew was making noise. Slowly we all merged together, and now it’s just a bunch of weird pop music. I’ve noticed more and more good touring acts coming through town. When I’m on tour, people always say they’ve heard how great Lexington is. It’s good to hear people are picking up on Kentucky.
