This is an amazing record store that has shows. It’s a big wooden box of a room, but sounds remarkably good for only having two mics. It makes SO much sense to play music surrounded by records and kind music lovers.
Ask any touring punk/indie rocker worth their salt, and they have played here. There’s a reason why. It’s tiny, the beer is cheap, there’s a bunch of pinball tables, and the coolest staff you will find in any bar anywhere. There’s a huge back patio that fills with drunken college kids, and all the door money goes to the bands. Need I say more? It’s perfect. And they put out records now.
Holy cow this place is amazing! A bunch of artists took over a big industrial building and have their studios in the basement. They host shows by weirdos of all sorts: noise, art rock, punk, etc. It is a genuinely friendly and accommodating community, and a very welcoming place to perform.
I work here, so I get a discount, so I end up here most nights that I’m out drinking. We have a lot of excellent classic cocktails, as well as ones we make up ourselves. My current favorite is the Yachtsman: Cucumber-infused gin, lime juice, sugar syrup, and Aperol, shaken and served with soda water on the rocks. Perfect for the post show hang.
We usually have afterparties at my house. Occasionally we make Horsefeathers (Rye Whiskey, bitters, and ginger beer) but typically we serve beer, straight out of the bottle. We offer BB gun shooting to wind down after your night at the bar.
