Edgewater Park

Now that summer’s here, trespassing is back in season. The best place for an after-hours dip is Edgewater Park. Here’s the trick: You have to use the far west entrance, right by West Boulevard. Edgewater is a state park, patrolled by State Rangers, but the western edge is less patrolled. Also, the beach is less clean than the main one. Use your head, and you’ll be fine. Bikes preferred at this venue. Give a hoot—don’t pollute.

Tina’s

Tina’s is right down the street from the Happy Dog, so it’s not uncommon to hit both in one night. Tina’s has the perfect mix of hipsters, townies, macho military dudes and gay people. Good riddance DADT! Domestics are $2.25, and they have karaoke every night. The song book has never been updated, so get ready for lots of Johnny Cash and Merle Haggard. No food though.
