Our hometown of Nijmegen is a small city of 170,000 people. But I’d say the Netherlands itself is like a big city. It’s a small country, and cities are always nearby. So there’s more of a Dutch scene than there is a scene in Nijmegen.
The scene definitely has changed in the last couple of years. Bands used to see each other as competition, but nowadays bands are supporting each other and making stuff all the time. That’s the way we always have thought about music anyway: It’s a continuous learning process, and it’s boring to only fuck sheep in your own herd.
