This is where I know I will always bump into good friends since this is a regular hangout place for a lot of us. The atmosphere is relaxed, the beers are cheap, and on weekends they are open until 2 a.m. Ask for Troels in the bar and order his specialty Red Rye. Their home-salted almonds go well with the strong beer Hancock Guldøl.

Eiffel Bar

An old brown bar in the area called Christianshavn. The bar was founded in 1736 and has served cold beers ever since–no food! The crowd is youngsters from the nearby high school, local drunks and hipsters coming from the concerts at Loppen. Order the Danish beer “Hof” and drink it straight from the bottle! Open every day from 9 a.m.-3 a.m.

Christiania

This is an old self-proclaimed hippie society in Copenhagen where good karma and the smell of weed float freely. There’s a lot of green areas at Christiania, so in the summertime I recommend sitting by the lakes at Christiania with a cold beer in one hand and the hand of your loved one in the other. It’s always a winner! Open everyday always.

Where Copenhagen hipsters and musicians bike to when they want to hang out and/or play table football. Order a bottle of cheap Lambrusco and get drunk with people wearing glasses and impressive knits. Open until 1 a.m. on weekends.
