Chelsea Light Moving, Thurston Moore’s new band with Keith Wood, Samara Lubelski and John Moloney, will release its first album March 5 on Matador. So in anticipation of yet another Moore project, we’re taking a look back at Thurston’s history on the charts.

Sonic Youth has been a consistent chart-topper with seven—count ‘em—No. 1 albums: Daydream Nation, Goo, Dirty, Experimental Jet Set, Trash And No Star, Murray Street, Sonic Nurse and Rather Ripped. However, Moore’s most successful solo album to date was 1995′s Psychic Hearts, as seen below.

A close second was Demolished Thoughts, which peaked at No. 6 in June 2011, falling behind Fleet Foxes, the Beastie Boys, Danger Mouse And Daniele Luppi, My Morning Jacket and the Antlers. His collab with Lydia Lunch, the Crumb EP, topped out at No. 81 in April 1988. And, most recently, the behemoth YOKOKIMTHURSTON, 2012′s project with Yoko Ono and Kim Gordon, failed to even make the Top 200. Even his work with jazz great Nels Cline and 1993′s Shamballa, a collaboration with William Hooker and Elliott Sharp, fell short.

So where will Chelsea Light fall among these numbers?
