In Scene Report, musicians from all over the globe fill us in on what’s going on sonically in their hometowns. This week, The Naked And Famous gives us the scoop on Los Angeles, CA. Their newest EP, In Rolling Waves, is out now via Republic.

We’ve been in L.A. for a year and a half. When we first moved here from New Zealand we had no idea what we were doing. The city was so big that we didn’t know our way around, and we ended up living in a house in the middle of Studio City, surrounded by ex-pornstars, old rock dudes from the ’80s and more. It wasn’t exactly the scene we had been looking for, since we were isolated in this weird paradise, but once we settled in and started finding our way around, we started going to gigs in the Echo Park area and making a lot of friends. We rehearse there, we just had a listening party for our new album at Origami Vinyl, and now we live in this area too. We love being a part of the scene here. There’s so much going on in L.A., with its endless supply of restaurants, bands coming through town, good people to hang out with and more. But we’ve managed to find our little niche.
