Berlin is an eclectic cultural melting pot. Many people compare it to New York in the early ’80s, when a lot of young artists went there because of low rents and created a strong subculture with important artists at that time, who influenced music and art all over the world. In comparison to other German cities, Berlin is still quite affordable after the wall came down in 1989, and so young musicians from all over the world come to this multicultural capital and try to do their thing. Especially the electronic music scene has a long and important history. Here you can see and find all music styles, like rockabilly, metal, Balkan beats, techno or hip-hop.
