Bands Worth Watching

Sin Fang

Solo project of Seabear’s Sindri Már Sigfússon. He has already released two wonderful albums. We think Sin Fang is great live, and we love him because he is such a friendly fellow. Watch out—he might be playing at venue near you.

Apparat Organ Quartet

Founded in 1999 by Jóhann Jóhannsson, Hörður Bragason, Músíkvatur and Úlfur Eldjárn, Apparat Organ Quartet has released two great records. Former metal drummer Arnar Geir from the legendary band HAM plays with the band now, and it’s an experience to see these pro musicians at work. They are very focused but also lively—they might even sneak in a subtle “dance” move here and there. We have never been disappointed at their live shows.

Prins Póló

The friendliest band in town. Simple songs with great Icelandic lyrics, often about food, and they frequently contain basic Icelandic references that make the ideal Icelander very happy. So if you don’t understand Icelandic, just close your eyes and enjoy the nice sounds of the language, and of course the great tunes they provide.

They have combined surf and metal music into one solution for mankind. I have heard that they make their own bodysmell a part of their live show. Look out for the theremin!

Snorri Helgason

A great guy and a wonderful songwriter. His new album is so good! His performances are delicate like his voice, so sit down, breath into your stomach and drink piña colada tea. Enjoy!
