Bands Worth Watching

It’s a bit weird to talk about how supportive this place is and then pick only a couple of bands worth watching. So keep in mind, this list is buds who are playing things that are personally in line with my taste. Other people make equally as cool things. Google it.

Old Cabin

These guys are the best. Jona writes the songs and recruits a rotating cast to back him up. We did a split together last year. I’ve known him since he was in high school. Now he’s got a huge beard. Mad love.

Kim Barlow and her new bilingual trio. Half the time I don’t know what they’re saying, but I swoon just the same. Their range is crazy, from clawhammer banjo songs to classical guitar songs, instrumental and lyrical. Super wry, well-written music. Makes you feel good. Even when it makes you sad.

Sarah Macdougall

Sarah is one of the hardest working musicians I know. She’s constantly on the road and always crushes it. Her song writing is concise and insightful. Her voice makes me all gooey. Weird. But true.

Jordy Walker

Jordy is a huge influence on us. He recorded our album, but he also plays a bunch of instruments, scores film and theatre pieces, writes songs…well, he does just about everything.
