In Scene Report, musicians from all over the globe fill us in on what’s going on sonically in their hometowns. This week Now, Now‘s Brad Hale gives the scoop on Minneapolis, MN.

Minneapolis is one of those places where the music scene has always been important. Most people know it for the hardcore punk days in the ’80s, which produced Hüsker Dü and the Replacements. Or dare I mention Prince? Still there is an incredibly diverse scene, one which owes its thanks to one of the best public radio stations in the country, the Current. Hip-hop and folk-rock seem to be what’s on the top of the scene right now, but still there is a freshness about everything that’s going on, and other genres are just as important.
