In Scene Report, musicians from all over the globe fill us in on what’s going on sonically in their hometowns. This week, electro-pop artist Maya Vik gives us the scoop on Oslo, Norway. Maya Vik’s latest album, Bummer Gun, is out now.

Oslo has a pretty good scene for club music, with big acts like Lindstrøm and Todd Terje. I am originally from Bergen, where the Tellé label was pioneering the Norwegian club music sound with acts like Röyksopp, Annie, Bjørn Torske and Ralph Myerz. Also I guess Oslo is famous for rock and metal. I went to se Turbonegro at Irving Plaza in New York recently, which was fun. There are some cool hip-hop acts too, though most of them rap in Norwegian.
