In Scene Report, musicians from all over the globe fill us in on what’s going on sonically in their hometowns. This week David Lehnberg and Elin Lindfors of Deer Tracks give the scoop on Gävle, Sweden. Watch for the band’s new album, Archer Trilogy: Pt. 3, coming out February 12 on the Control Group.

Gävle is our hometown, and it’s most famous for burning down a giant straw goat (Julbocken) every Christmas, Gevalia coffee and the hockey team Brynäs IF.

Here in Gävle you meet each other over a very strong cup of coffee called “fika,” for the revealing of the Christmas goat every year, December 1st, or at an ice hockey game. Otherwise we like to stay for ourselves.

In an old abandoned pasta factory, we create our music. No windows, there’s nothing here to see…yet. The 12th of February, we’ll reveal the third and final part in our The Archer Trilogy, and we’re celebrating the release with a six-week tour in Northern America.
