Venues Of Note
An old gospel church converted into live/work/venue in West Oakland. What we love about this space is its character, and the strong community of DIYers backing it. We’re always happy to play shows at this space, which is going strong.
Downtown Oakland has seen a lot of changes over the past few year, with tons of new restaurants and bars opening up. The Night Light has been open about a year, with a neighborhood bar vibe downstairs and small venue upstairs with a great sound system friendly to the adventurous local music scene.
Perhaps one of the longest running DIY noise warehouse/venues in Oakland, bring your own whatever and be ready to be blasted.
Korean hole in the wall open late, with their famous “Porno Fries” and Soju cocktails till 2 am.
Every first Saturday Cafe Revolution deep in West Oakland gets funky. All ages and no cover brings in all sorts to the throws of untamed funk and soul dancing while the wax spins till the wee hours. Revolution serves up mimosas and Tecate faster than you can sweat it out on the dance floor.
When everything else seems too much bother, there’s always late-night tacos. The best truck in the East Bay and its super cheap at $1.25 a pop.
Its like a living room with a bar and a kitchen, perfect for chilling. Cocktails and steak dinner till midnight, in the comfort of an armchair.
