The weekend is almost here. But hasn’t it felt like the weekend all week at CMJ Music Marathon? At least today you can go out and not have to worry about dragging yourself into the office tomorrow, and CMJ has a suitably unhinged lineup for you to choose from as a result. Pop, rap, indie and even a brass band all feature on our list of picks that fall into the “must-see” bracket today. Just think of it as being a gateway into experiencing every genre on the planet in just one day.

Make sure you check back in with us tomorrow for more tips on artists to see, parties to be seen at, and much more.

01. Ghostface Killah @ Irving Plaza

Rap superstar Ghostface Killah is one of the biggest names at CMJ this year, and he headlines this Mass Appeal showcase that includes sets from Mr. Muthafuckin’ eXquire, Roc Marciano and Asher Roth.

First question: How do you pronounce that name? They tell us it’s Juh-Jamz, so if that makes sense to you (or even if it doesn’t) head out to Webster Hall to see this supergroup combining members of Maroon 5, Rilo Kiley, Phantom Planet and the Like. Read CMJ’s Q&A with JJAMZ here.
